About This Calligraphy Art -

Honestly, I consider this as my best digital calligraphy artwork till now. This artwork is inspired by -

• Tawaf (circumambulating or walking in circles around the Kaaba in an anti-clockwise motion. Seven complete circuits equal one Tawaf)

• Talbiyah (dua which is repeatedly invoked when Muslims go for pilgrimage) and

• Baitul Ma’mur, also known as the “Frequented House”, is a prototype of Ka'bah, the House of Allah (SWT), and it is located outside of the human realm. It is located directly above the Ka’bah in the highest Heavens,i.e. the seventh Heaven, and just above it, is Allah’s (SWT) throne. This sacred and Holy house is also mentioned in Surah Tur of the Holy Quran, where Allah (SWT) says:

“And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels)” (Holy Quran Surah 52:4)

The artwork depicts the whole universe performing Tawaf of the Holy Baitul Ma’mur, engaged in the worship of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'laa. 

All the intricate detailing like the galaxies, stars, galactic clouds, etc are carefully thought out and places across the canvas and the Verses of Talbiyah written in white colour above the Holy Kaaba to highlight the message the artwork tries to convey in a beautiful manner. 

What is Labbaik?

This is a dua which is repeatedly invoked when Muslims go for pilgrimage. It’s also referred to as Talbiyah.

Talbiyah is repeatedly said during the Hajj, or pilgrimage, or upon putting on the Ihram.

Dua - “Labbaik, Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaik La Sharika laka Labbaik. Inn-al-Hamda Wan-Ni'mata Laka wal-Mulk, La Sharika Lak.” 

Meaning - "I respond to Your call O Allah! I respond to Your call. You have no partner. I respond to Your call. All praise, thanks and blessings are for You. All sovereignty is for You. And You have no partners with You)."

Benefits of Reciting this -

This is recited while performing Hajj.

When a Muslim recites the Talbiyah, the plants and inanimate objects around him join in worshipping and declaring the oneness of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no Muslim who recites the Talbiyah except that whatever is to his right and left – of stones, trees, and mud – recites the Talbiyah with him, until the earth is covered in both directions" (Tirmidhi).
